I am so excited to share the news—FINALLY—that the kitchen is DONE! I'm so impressed with my husband's work that I am submitting our remodel to This Old House magazine. Who knows... maybe we'll be featured as a reader remodel! But in the meantime, this is what our new kitchen looks like!

Backyard Barn Wedding Take 3!

It is hard to believe it, but all three Minnetyan sisters are now married off. Teni and Chase decided to follow suit with their wedding and celebrate their big day under a tent at our family home. Though they included plenty of original details making this "back yard wedding part 3" a truly unique and beautiful event!

Lucie's First Day of pre-school!

Lucie was VERY excited for her first official day of pre-school! She skipped half way to school as we walked the 3 blocks and she was EVEN pretty cooperative with the picture taking which is a bit uncharacteristic of our oldest daughter. This girl is ready for school!

Since we have no kitchen and the forecast was for rain all day, we decided the best thing to do would be to throw a party! OK... so not a real party, but we did invite family to spend the afternoon celebrating our little Bean's first birthday.

With the help of my sister and the next door neighbor's kitchen, we were able to bake some Chocolate Labradoodle pupcakes!

And though it did take her a few minutes to warm up to the cake...

She got there eventually!

The last weeks have flown and I can't believe my teeny tiny baby is already 7 weeks old! Lucie is just loving her up as we all are.

We had a very fun visit with our friends from across the pond this month and Ben continues to demo something in or out of our home every chance he gets. Life is good!

Welcome Eva Catherine!

Eva Catherine Revette was born on August 7, 2010 at 6:35 p.m. weighing 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long. We were shocked that she decided to make her arrival 2 weeks early, but are so excited that she is here. She is just perfect and so far adjusting well to life in Hamilton!

Big sister Lucie is doing great and I can't get over how much she LOVES little Eva! Here is a photo of Lucie meeting Eva and one of the very proud big sister welcoming her little sister home. Awww...we love sisters!

Summer on the North Shore

Lucie is loving life on the North Shore and her new house and yard. She has quite the knack for getting us all soaked with the hose! The last month has been busy with home improvement and LOTS of help from both Ben and Sona's families. The hole in the foundation is all patched up and the rooms inside are coming along. We're instituting a new rule that we have to take at least one little break from home improvement every weekend for a little bit of fun time!

We closed on our new home last week and have spent the last 10 days or so in MAJOR home improvement mode. Ben has not only ripped off the old rotting back deck, but also found some crumbling foundation and created a new entry into our basement. Hopefully the next house pictures I post will be of finished spaces, rather than demolition!

By request, Lucie had an ice cream cake for her second birthday. I kept asking her what kind of cake she wanted and she kept telling me "ice cream cake." I asked how she even knew that existed and Ben said it must be genetic! Like mother, like daughter I guess! Lucie had lots of fun making her own special pizza with Grandma KuKu and opening her many, many presents!

Teni and Chase's dog Mena has gotten to spend a little quality time at our house lately and Lucie LOVES having her around! My mom took her to Lake Placid for the week while Teni and Chase are on vacation and Lucie has been asking about her constantly. Just yesterday she told me, "Mena's the best!" Maybe we need a puppy in our new home...

We spent last weekend in Washington D.C. visiting Uncle Johnny and Aunt Tracie. Lucie had lots of fun running around the waterfront in Georgetown while we had dinner and drinks outside in the 75 degree weather!

We went to the National Zoo and saw elephants, pandas, tigers, and more, though Lucie's favorite thing there was this stroller...

We also got to see our friends The Howarths. Lucie and Olivia had so much fun playing together!

I have been a major blogging slacker, but in all fairness, I have been trying to capture a tune on video for close to two months now! The second I take out the camera Lucie stops what she is doing and says, "I want to see." I think she finally gets it now and was willing to perform a few of her fav tunes for me this afternoon. Check out her rendition of Twinkle, twinkle. She also does a mean Itsy Bitsy Spider and Happy Birthday, but we'll save those for another day.

11 Months Old!

It is hard to believe that our little girl is 11 months old already! These days Lucie is into everything and anything. She is extremely verbal, even though we're not always sure exactly what she is trying to tell us. She sometimes takes on a lecturing tone and waves her arms around trying to explain to us. She adores dogs and says "dog" (de de de) and "woof" (f f f) whenever we see one. She especially likes reading to us and even better if there is a dog in the book! Lucie also loves giving hugs and kisses...to mom and dad if we're lucky...and often to stuffed animals, photos, books, and just yesterday...a measuring cup!

9 Month Stats

Lucie weighed in at 21 pounds even and 28.5 inches long...hanging strong in the 90th percentile in both height and weight. At least she is well proportioned!

Lucie is very busy these days making all kinds of new sounds, pointing, waving, eating blueberries (her new favorite), and taking lots of steps. Six steps in a row is her maximum without holding onto something so far. She usually gets really excited and out of control by the third or fourth step...very entertaining!

Here are a few pictures we had taken today at BRU. We were selected for a "free" photo session since they were practicing a new line of photos they are marketing called "faces." Ben wants to know why they "cut off her head" in every picture.

Lucie enjoyed her first Christmas in Potsdam. She is clapping at everything these days (even in her sleep) and points at lots of things. Grandma KuKu taught her "where is the Christmas tree?" and she points every time! Though sometimes if you ask her "where is daddy?" she points to the Christmas tree then too.

First Turkey Day!

We celebrated Thanksgiving and Lucie's very first Turkey Day with lots of snow and family and friends on Paradise Hill in DeRuyter. Lucie watched the turkey deep fry in the gargage, went on her first sled ride and "helped" make her first snowman.

And we were lucky enough to stop in for Ugly Sweater Thanksgiving #2 on Saturday at the Jacobson's!

We celebrated Lucie's 6 month birthday with half a carrot cake (Daddy's favorite) and lots of giggles (thanks to Aunt Marta)!

Lucie is keeping very busy these days blowing bubbles and chatting it up. She is still growing like a weed although maybe starting to slow down a bit. She weighed in at 18 lbs, 5 ounces and 27 inches long - the 90th percentile for both height and weight.

Her main mode of transportation is rolling...

Ben thinks she is going to crawl any day now, but Sona thinks she is waiting for her first Thanksgiving in DeRuyter and all that brain stimulation...

Lucie got to hang out with June (our downstairs neighbor) the other day. They were so cute together. They just sat there looking at each other and smiling for a good 15 minutes! Lucie is 5 months old today and to celebrate we took our first trip to the pumpkin patch at Russell Orchards. Mom, Zido, and Grandma KuKu loved the cider donuts, but Lucie took a special liking to this little pumpkin.

4 Month Check-Up and a tooth (or two)!

We had our 4 month check up today. Miss Lucie weighed in at 16 pounds, 5 ounces and 26.5 inches long! She is "thriving" as our doctor put it...92nd percentile both height and weight. She has averaged about 2 pounds a month since birth, but we thought this would slow down by now! She has also been drooling and chewing on everything in reach. Two days ago, we noticed her first tooth was about to break through and today we found that her second tooth is just behind.

Lucie attended her first wedding this week. She did pretty well in the drive to Lake George and loved the view of the lake from our cabin. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Starks! 5:56am (thanks for the all nighter lucie)
8lbs-5.9 ounces, 21.25" long (a keeper in the state of MA)

Lucine's name comes from Sona's Grandmother and Marie is in memory of Grammy on the Revette side.

She is happy and healthy but is proned to sleeping all day a "partying" all night.
